Established in 1969 by John and Margery Hardman and named after the former Blackburn Rovers and Tottenham centre half. The Company went from strength to strength and has now a loyal customer base covering all the North West.

Unfortunately John died in October 1987 but the Company has stayed well and truly a family concern as Jeanette Corner, John and Margery's daughter, now manages the Company together with sister, brother-in-law and a dedicated work force.

In past years the Company has been nominated by the Timber Trade Journal, for the Softwood Trader of the Year. Mike England Timber supports the "Wood for Good" campaign and is a member of the North West Timber Association. More recently the Company has achieved FSC Accreditation through BMTRADA
