Established in 1969 by John and Margery Hardman and named after the former Blackburn Rovers and Tottenham centre half Mike England. Despite suffering a major fire in 1992 the Company went from strength to strength and has now a loyal customer base covering all the North West.
Unfortunately John died in October 1987 but the Company has stayed well and truly a family concern as Jeanette Corner, John and Margery's eldest daughter, now manages the Company together with sister Liz, brother-in-law and a dedicated work force. Although Mrs Hardman is now retired she still takes an interest in the running of the Company.
In past years the Company has been nominated by the Timber Trade Journal, for the Softwood Trader of the Year. Mike England Timber supports the "Wood for Good" campaign and is a member of the North West Timber Trade Association. The Company also achieved FSC® certification through BMTRADA in 2005.
